Spring is among us, and the warm, sunny parties are just beginning. Planning and getting everything sorted is a challenge in itself but selecting foods for a get together can be difficult too. We are left to think about what the weather will be like, what foods our guests might like, is anyone allergic to certain types of foods, and what is easy but delicious to make. Depending on how many guests are going to be attending you want to be able to cook something that is quick to make.

Having a light snack or appetizer before the main course is always good to have in mind. They are a way of keeping guests happy as they wait for everyone to arrive and for the lunch or dinner to be served. Here are some recipes we’ve found that is quick to make and great for your health!

Fruit and Yogurt Salad Consider a light snack with a natural sweetness that comes from the fruit rather than artificial sugars. Fruits are less damaging to the teeth and provide nutrients we need. It’s a great salad for an appetizer or dessert.

Fruit Mint Salad   Yes, another salad! You can never go wrong with salads. They are easy to make, come in many varieties, and are delicious. This salad mainly has no yogurt in it. It’s all fruit with a hint of mint. Mint is good to have an appetizer since it’s a palate cleanser and helps soothe your stomach and indigestion. A food plate for your teeth and overall health.

When it comes main courses, what is a better way to treat your guests to something different and small to eat?

Fajitas A cuisine we are familiar with, however, this a completely different plate. It’s a meatless plate with black beans and pineapple! You read right, meatless. No need to worry about the pieces of meat getting trapped between your teeth and if you’re vegetarian or vegan this the plate for you. You get all the protein you need without having meat stuck in your teeth.

Zucchini Boats and Spring Pizzas Are fun plates to have if children are present. They both contain vegetables but are in the form of a pizza. Pizza is good, but it’s not always the best choice to have if it’s oily and full of tomato sauce. These two plates are both small and have less acidic food ingredients that damage our teeth’s enamel.

We can’t forget the drinks! Spring is a warm season which means it’s all about the refreshing beverages. Instead of choosing soft sodas, artificial juices, and alcoholic drinks, opt-out for a beverage that’s better for your teeth and overall health.

There are additional drinks we can serve which are kinder to our teeth and help with our overall health but still offer a good taste. Keep in mind when making juices from fruits and vegetables, it is always better to make them yourself without using or buying artificial sweeteners and imitation fruit or vegetable flavors. There’s nothing more tasty and better than homemade foods and drinks. What are some of the homemade spring treats you like to make when you get ready for a spring party? Tell us in the comments below.
