Save money…..read this!

We discovered, according to the National Association Of Dental Plans that an astounding 97.8% of PPO plan participants never reach or exceed their dental plan maximums. The consequences of not utilizing yearly dental benefits are costly, and we are here to help to maximize your plan.

Here are just a few reasons why you want to complete any necessary dental treatment before the new year.

  • Yearly Maximums Reset: Insurances give an annual dollar maximum of what you can spend on dental care. Every year insurances reset your individual and possibly family maximums. Sadly, these benefits are not like cell phone minutes and roll over. If you do not use them, they are gone!
  • Annual Deductibles Reset: Like most Medical Insurance, Dental Insurances have Deductibles which are a specific amount of out-of-pocket money you have to pay before your benefits begin to cover any services. Typically an individual and family deductible ranges between $25-$150 per year. Unfortunately, this money must be paid each year newly before coverage comes into play. Yearly Deductibles usually do not apply to routine dental check-ups and cleanings and come due when dental treatment is needed.  Maximize your dollars and complete any required dental treatment you have this year.
  • Premiums Remain Active: As long as you or your employer has paid your Dental Insurance Premium, you have benefits, why not use them? Take advantage of the FREE dental services which are provided per your plan and use the percentages of coverage to facilitate completing any needed dental procedure. Look at your dental insurance as a bank of money set aside for your dental well being. A specific amount of money is deposited into your account typically at the beginning of the year (calendar year plans) and is yours to use until it is gone or expires, which is usually January 1 each new year.
  • Dental Fees Increase: Dental fees charged by dental offices, and allowed by Dental Insurances tend to rise at the beginning of each year to accommodate for cost of living and materials. These increases could lead to a higher co-pay. You can divert some of those increased costs by maintaining your regular six-month check-ups, dental cleanings and completing your dental treatment at the time of diagnosis.
  • Avoid Exacerbated Dental Problems: Waiting to complete simple dental treatment, such as a cavity can turn into extensive dental treatment. Through proper oral care, following the dental hygiene instructions of your hygienist and completing necessary dental treatment, you can avoid future costly procedures.

The best approach to maximizing and utilizing your Dental Insurance benefits is to work with your dental office’s Treatment Coordinator. Through establishing some simple treatment plan goals and financial planning, you can maximize your current and future dental plan benefits.
