Kids are often nervous and anxious about going to the dentist; we are here to help alleviate some of those pressures as a parent. We want to make it a great experience for them and encourage them to enjoy their dental hygiene regimen as they grow up.
Here are some tips on how to make your child’s trip to the dentist much easier:
Make it a family outing:
There is nothing more comforting than having your family with you! We are happy to book back to back appointments for your children. Them seeing each other in the dentist’s chair will make a huge difference and will certainly encourage them to be able to do it too. You may even be able to turn it into a fun family experience. Make a tradition of going for a quick walk before the appointment, or having lunch together, whatever you and your family enjoy doing together!
Talk to them:
Have a conversation about their anxieties and fears of visiting the dentist. It will help calm them down, but also you will get to know your child even better! Hearing what is the root of their fears will help you understand and therefore make it easier to soothe them. Show them that you understand and share a story of when you were afraid to visit the dentist, or just a time when you overcame a fear in general. Open communication is always the key.
Talk to US!
Please, let us know if your child is afraid or anxious for his appointment! We want this to be as positive of an experience as possible for your child and would love to help the situation in any way we can. We can bring toys into the room to help relax them. We also have some of the best doctor’s around who would be happy to spend a few moments with your child before their appointment to ensure their comfort going into the cleaning.
